Helping after the recent Tornado outbreak in Alabama

By admin - Posted on 04 May 2011

After the recent tornado outbreak of April 2011, Warrior sustained moderate damage. Neighbors are helping neighbors and the clean-up effort is underway. If you want to help other Alabamians in nearby communities that were less fortunate, and desperately need our help, we encourage you to volunteer, donate, and offer your support.

Remember that this recovery will take time, and many volunteers. You will be needed not just today or this month, but for months to come. Here are a few resources for those who wish to get involved:

Locally, the Warrior Armory is a drop-off point for donated goods to be distributed to those without power or who have damaged property. Volunteers are also needed and just "show up" to help. The armory is located here:

The Alabama Red Cross is on the front-lines, serving those in greatest need. Your financial or volunteer support is greatly appreciated.

The Alabama Governor's Office has a Faith-based and Community Initiatives page where you can donate, sign up to volunteer and gather information.
